*On Saturdays the general OPD functions from 08.00 am to 12.30 pm only.

  • OPD Card can be obtained from the OPD Registration desk at ground floor.
  • Patients are seen on first come first serve basis. However, out of turn consultation may be provided in case of emergency or to senior citizens.
  • For consultation in Speciality clinics, you need to be referred from Oral Medicine and Radiology Department of MGPGI.
  • Investigations: After OPD consultation, the treating doctor will fill up the requisition forms for various investigations & direct/guide you to the concerned lab /dept.
  • Sample collection centre for Blood, Urine, Stool etc. - Room No. 5 at Ground Floor.
  • Sample Collection Timings are:-  8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
  • Certain specialized investigations are done on particular days only.
  • The reports are normally collected by the concerned individuals from the respective lab as instructed.
  • Due to excess work load, waiting period exists for certain investigations like Digital X-Rays, USG, Echo etc

 

Patients are given future dates by the concerned departments. However, these may be done out of turn in urgent situations, on recommendation of the treating doctor.

  • Many facilities are provided at OPD level for dental treatment ECG, Injection, Minor Surgical Intervention, Endoscopy etc.
  • A Separate Oral Cancer Screening Cell is available.
  • Medical fitness / Medical examination and other such certificates are issued as per the need.
  • The decision to admit a patient lies with the treating doctor.
  • Wheel chairs, patient trolleys etc. are available at the Medical, Surgical and Oral Surgery Wards.
  • OPDs have waiting hall with chairs, Public Telephone booth, lifts, ramp for OPD, public utilities like drinking water & toilets etc. at each floor.
  • You should park your vehicle in the said parking only otherwise it is likely to be towed away.
  • To meet day-to-day needs of patients, there is canteen and grocery shop in front of the ward block and Public Telephone booths in the corridor and a bank with ATM facilities is available with in the campus.

Admission

B.D.S. Course: 125 Students are admitted from this year to the B.D.S. course, of which 51 are from the Union Territory of Puducherry. The admissions to these seats are made on UG NEET merit basis by the CENTAC, Pondicherry.
M.D.S. Course : 19 Students are admitted from this year to M.D.S. courses, of which 50% seats from the UT of Puducherry. The admission to these seats are made on NEET-MDS merit basis by the CENTAC, Pondicherry.
