Community dental health programme

The Institute has also undertaken the following service and welfare activities for serving the population at large. These services are as follows.

1. Oral Cancer Detection Programme.

2. The Institute has adopted 2 Community Health Centres (Karikalampakkam and Mannadipet) and 2 Primary Health Centres (Ariankuppam and Villianur) of the Govt. of Puducherry.

3. School Dental Health Programmes are conducted on a regular basis covering all the schools in Puducherry.

4. Dental treatment camps are organized in various areas of Puducherry and adjacent areas in Tamil Nadu.

5. Dental Health Programmes are organized on a regular basis.

COMMUNITY DENTAL HEALTH PROGRAMME

Dental Camps:

A total of 3 special dental camps were conducted during this period, wherein the screening and treatments were provided to the various sections of the public apart from the regular weekly dental camps at two Primary Health Centres (Ariankuppam and Villianur) and two Community Health Centres (Karikalampakkam and Mannadipet).

Admission

B.D.S. Course: 125 Students are admitted from this year to the B.D.S. course, of which 51 are from the Union Territory of Puducherry. The admissions to these seats are made on UG NEET merit basis by the CENTAC, Pondicherry.
M.D.S. Course : 19 Students are admitted from this year to M.D.S. courses, of which 50% seats from the UT of Puducherry. The admission to these seats are made on NEET-MDS merit basis by the CENTAC, Pondicherry.
