Examination of the patients, radiographic and laboratory investigations and all dental treatment is carried out absolutely free of cost in the dental clinics and hospital.

The Dental College and Hospital has state of the art equipments and facilities for carrying out advanced dental care. There are 146 dental chairs with attached units. Specialized X-ray diagnostic modalities such as orthopantomogram and cephalometric radiography are available. Latest technology has been adopted in the Prosthodontics lab, with ceramic fabrication facilities.

For delivering better patient care there are medical departments functioning in this Institution, where patients are treated on an out-patient and in-patient basis. Apart from this there are para-clinical departments, where all the required investigations are carried out.

There is collaboration with Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) and Government General Hospital, Puducherry (Equipped with state of the art equipments) for sophisticated diagnostic procedures, investigations and academic activities.

Clinical Departments and its Functions:

1.  Dept. of Prosthodontics
It pertains to the restoration and maintenance of oral function, comfort, appearance and health of the patient by the restoration of natural teeth and/or the replacement of missing teeth and craniofacial tissues with artificial substitutes. It deals with all Oral and Maxillofacial Prostheses, Fixed Partial Dentures, Implant Prostheses, all other types of Removable Prostheses and Full Mouth Rehabilitation.

2.  Dept. of Oral Medicine and Radiology:
The department is taking up the Initial evaluation of the patients, radiographic investigations, diagnosis and treatment planning.

3. Dept. of Oral Pathology 
For carrying out Histopathological examination and Cytological examination apart from Immunohistochemical studies for confirmatory diagnosis.

4. Dept. of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
For carrying out Oral and Maxillofacial surgeries and dental extractions.  Trauma care is also carried out in the department.

5. Dept. of Pedodontics 
It caters to the needs of the child patients.

6. Dept. of Periodontics
The patients are treated for Oral prophylaxis and surgical procedures involving the supporting tissues of the teeth.

7. Dept. of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics
Deals with the diagnosis (art and science of identifying disease), prevention, treatment and prognosis (probable outcome of the treatment) of defects of teeth (e.g.caries, tooth wear due to different causes, developmental defects, etc) resulting into restoration of proper tooth form, function and esthetics (appearance), thus maintaining harmonious relationship with adjacent hard & soft tissues.

Deals with the cause, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of  diseases and injuries of the pulp (inner cavity of tooth where blood vessels and nerve are located) and associated periradicular (tissues around the root of a tooth) condition.  

8. Dept. of Community Dentistry  
It imparts dental treatment at the grassroot level and in the peripheral areas and also takes preventive measures.

9. Dept. of Orthodontics
For carrying out correction of malaligned teeth.

10. Division of Implantology  
It provides specialized prosthetic treatment by utilizing Implants .

11. Special Clinic 
For providing immediate and efficient dental care for dignitaries.
