FACILITIES LIBRARY FACILITIES This Institute has an excellent Centralized Air Conditioned Library with a vast collection of International and National Dental / Medical and other allied health science books and journals worth approximately Rs.320 lakhs . The book collection of the Library is 9180 and back volumes collection is 950. The library is subscribing 66 foreign Journals and 19 Indian journals. The library annual budget is Rs.40 lakhs. No books were purchased during this financial year due to paucity of funds.

STATUS OF MGPGI AND
OTHER P.G. PROGRAMMES
a) At present Post-graduate courses are offered in five specialities.
b) The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India has approved two more P.G. programmes in the specialities of Conservative Dentistry and Periodontics with an intake of Two seats in each. Therefore, the steps have been taken to start two more P.G. Courses from this academic year 2010 2011 (Already started). Total P.G. Courses in seven specialities.
c) The PG programmes in Oral Medicine & Radiology and Pedodontics have recently been recognized by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
d) The students are not admitted this year for Pedodontics speciality, due to the acute shortage of faculty members as per the requirement.
VISION FOR THE FUTURE:
1. CENTRES OF EXCELLENCE
It is proposed to develop centres of excellence in various specialities to provide ALL UNDER ONE ROOF concept with regard to patient care. This will give credibility to the Institute at National/International levels and shall boost up research activities. At present the following Centres of Excellence are proposed to be started and more shall follow in course of time.
a) Advanced Centre for Maxillofacial Prosthesis and Implantology Department of Prosthodontics and Implantology.
b) Advanced Centre for Maxillofacial Tumor Biology Department of Oral Pathology & Microbiology.
c) Advanced Centre for Maxillofacial Surgery Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
d) Advanced Centre for Dentofacial Orthopaedics Department of Pedodontics and Orthodontics.
2. To start Postgraduate courses in all fields of Dentistry.
3. To start Postgraduate diploma courses and Ph.D. programmes in various fields of Dentistry.
5. To develop Superspeciality courses in various fields of Dentistry.
6. To give more emphasis to Research activities.
7. To undertake more projects for the benefit of the faculty and students.
8. Upgradation of posts in both teaching and non-teaching cadres.
9. It is planned to have faculty exchange programmes with renowned Institutions both in India and abroad.
