Children's Day Celebration on 14/11/2019 :-

Children's day was celebrated on 14th November, 2019 in the Dept. of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry. Prof. Dr. V. Ramesh, M.D.S., Dean presided over the function and addressed the gathering. The programme included games for children, colouring competition on the theme of importance of healthy diet for good oral health, demonstration of brushing technique for children, oral hygiene and dietary instructions and distribuition of gifts. Dr. V. Arun Prasad Rao, M.D.S., Ph.D., Professor and Head, Dept. of Pediatric & Preventive Dentistry delivered welcome address and vote of thanks.

 

 

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan - on 31/08/2019:-

The cleaning programme of MGPGI campus, a part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was held on 31st August, 2019 near the Car parking areas, basket ball ground and Administrative block areas. Prof. Dr. V. Ramesh,MDS, Dean inaugurated the campaign and addressed the gathering, senior faculty members and more than 80 students were participated.

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan - on 13/04/2019:-

The cleaning programme of MGPGI campus, a part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was held on 13th April, 2019 near the Mahatma Gandhi Statue, passage leading to Dept. of Gen. Surgery and Electrical substation areas. Prof. Dr. V. Ramesh,MDS, Dean inaugurated the campaign and addressed the gathering, senior faculty members and students were participated.

Special Guest Lecture :-

Special Guest Lecture was conducted on 12/04/2019 by Dr. Vishal Aggarwal,BDS, MFDSRCS, MPH, FFGDP, PhD., Clinical Associate Professor in Acute Dental Care and Chronic Pain at School of Dentistry, University of Leeds, UK on "Puzzle of Pain". Also, one Guest Lecture from Switzerland Doctor conducted by IDA in MGPGI Premises.

Swachhta Pakhwada - Swachhbharat Abhiyan :-

Spreading the message of cleanliness among students and surrounding areas. A series of programmes were conducted with wholesome participation of students and staff of MGPGI. The programmes were successfully conducted under the guidance of Prof. Dr. V. Ramesh,MDS, Dean, valuable support of Associate Deans,  active participation of faculty members and students.

Clean Surroundings Day : All students participated in cleaning of roads leading to MGPGI Campus :

 

Elocution Contest on "Health & Hygiene is the real Welath" : Held at Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Hall :

 

Green Campus Day : All students and staff participated in Saplings Plantation Programme :

 

Closing ceremony for distribution of prizes and certificates for participants : Held at Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Hall :

 

International Yoga Day : In commemoration of International Yoga Day, an activity of Yogasana Demonstration & Training was conducted on 21st June, 2019. A total of 56 UG & PG students and staff members were actively participated in the programme.

Dental Camp for Hemophilia Patients : A camp was organised by MGPGI in association with Hemophilia Society, Pondicherry Chapter. It was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Dr. V. Ramesh, MDS, Dean, in the presence of Dr. P. Nalini, President of Hemophilia Society, Pondicherry Chapter, Dr. M. Jonathan Daniel, MDS, Associate Dean (Academic), Dr. V. Arun Prasad Rao, MDS, Professor, MGPGI and Dr. Prakash Rao, Additional Director (Retd.), Central Homeopathic Research Institute. A total of 79 hemophilia patients which included 35 children and 44 adults benefited from the dental screening camp.

 

SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITIES:

Scientific Society of MGPGI convenes meetings every quarter of the year and renowned speakers are invited to give guest lectures on recent advances and researches.
